10,000 guests descended on Manchester’s EventCity this weekend (7th December) for the launch of Winter Funland, making it one of EventCity’s biggest openings yet.

Amongst the visitors were a number of celebrities, including football favourites Vincent Kompany, Fabrice Muamba and Kyle Walker, as well as soap stars Brooke Vincent, Kieron Richardson and Sarah Jayne Dunn.

The largest indoor winter wonderland in the UK, Winter Funland will run through to New Year’s Day and promises a world full of Christmas magic for all the family. Packed with seasonal festivities, the Yuletide extravaganza features an indoor ice rink, circus, a fun fair, and tons of festive entertainment – with plenty of magical moments to keep little elves entertained.

Offering a Christmas adventure like no other, little ones are invited to embark on an enchanting journey through Santa’s grotto, joined by elves hard at work and Santa’s two adorable reindeers, Rudolf and Dancer. Dates for Winter Funland are selling with limited availability, and some days are already completely sold out.

Speaking on the opening weekend, Simon Jones, Sales Director of EventCity, commented: “The launch of Winter Funland was a great success and it’s fantastic to see families getting into the Christmas spirit with us. We’re really looking forward to welcoming even more guests to EventCity over the festive period.”

Using 22,000 sqm of EventCity’s versatile space (the equivalent of five football pitches) Winter Funland hopes to welcome a high number of visitors to the North-West venue in the coming weeks. Event City features 2,000 free on-site parking spaces, easy access loading facilities and close proximity to a variety of transport links and motorways.
