The Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) is the University of Strathclyde’s world-class research facility, transforming collaboration between academia, industry and the public sector. Offering flexible conferencing facilities for up to 600 delegates in Glasgow’s vibrant city centre with support from a friendly, customer-focused team, TIC has quickly established itself as one of Scotland’s premier conference venues, and was recently named the UK’s Best Academic Venue at the Meetings & Incentive Travel Awards.
The facilities in TIC are purpose-built to host meetings of regional, national and international significance, and are available all year round. The team place a strong emphasis on working with each conference client as an individual from the point of enquiry, through detailed event planning, to delivery on the day.
The Main Auditorium accommodates up to 450 delegates which can be subdivided into a flat-floored space for 150 and tiered auditoria seating up to 150 or 300. Spacious interconnected foyers link the conferencing spaces, and are the perfect setting for networking, catering and exhibitions. TIC’s eight conference rooms offer bright, comfortable accommodation for up to 80 delegates and on Level 9, the Executive Suite offers a flexible, self-contained space for up to 100 delegates with views across the campus.
Good quality food and drink, creatively presented and professionally served, are a fundamental part of the event experience, and TIC’s catering team is delighted to work with clients on bespoke options to suit specific requirements. TIC is also equipped with the latest projection, display and audio technology with in-house technicians to offer advice and support.
Located in the Merchant City, in the very heart of Glasgow, TIC is within easy reach of transport networks and hotels, with plenty of options for sightseeing, shopping and socialising nearby.
